Floun"der (?), n. [Cf. Sw. flundra; akin to Dan. flynder, Icel. fly&unr_;ra, G. flunder, and perh. to E. flounder, v.i.] 1. (Zo&ö;l.) A flatfish of the family Pleuronectidæ, of many species.
